Stem cell webquest
Stem cells are the basis of all our cells, during the stages of development in the mothers womb, a baby will produce these cells, out of its spinal cord, to be made into completely new cells. A stem cell could turn into a nerve cell, tissue cell, muscle, heart, brain, anything and everything. Unfortunately the best way to get them at this moment is from a fetus, or a still developing baby or fetus taken from the womb. (Abortion is the most common way of getting them)
Stem cells have been known however, to appear in adults as well, bone marrow, peripheral blood, brain, spinal cord, dental pulp, blood vessels, skeletal muscle, epithelia of the skin and digestive system, cornea, retina, liver, and pancreas, And the list is still growing!
